Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, Stopping Up
Project Overview
AMA successfully provided Lovell Homes with transportation related support to accompany a detailed planning application for 84 residential dwellings which achieved outline consent.
AMA prepared a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for the site and liaised with the Local Highway Authority Calderdale Council (CC) to a positive determination.
Post determination the site required the Stopping Up of 21 sections of public highway (including claims), therefore AMA worked with the Secretary of State’s (SoS) Department for Transport (DfT) to propose the stopping up of these areas of public highway and manage these through the statutory legal process.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- AMA were able to prepare a case that the existing land use offset the impact of the proposed use and as such the highways impact was minimal and resulting in no off-site highways works or contributions.
- The Stopping Up process was detailed and required AMA to prepare detailed drawings for submission to SoS for their consideration and drafting of legal orders.
- AMA managed the Stopping Up process through initial posting of orders on site, addressing utilities companies objections to provide easements, agreeing the final orders with DfT and implementing these.
- All Stopping Up was completed on agreed timescales and without third party objections.
