AMA supported Enterprise Rent-A-Car gain planning consent for the company’s largest UK rental location, a new flagship branch in Sheepscar, Leeds spanning 42,688ft2.
The site, which was previously a vacant trade unit, was identified and acquired by Enterprise as a part of plans to regenerate the local area.
AMA provided all highways and transportation advice on the scheme planning application stage to a successful conclusion with LCC Highways and Planning.
The site included a number of specific considerations and inputs:
- Swept path analysis of car / van / petrol tanker movements to ensure the most efficient site layout could be achieved.
- Liaison with LCC Highways to agree that the site would result in a minimal impact and no off-site highway contributions would be required given the site is located within one of the city’s largest areas of strategic road connections and interchange between the north and east of the city.
- Assistance agreeing a suitable proportion of Electric Vehicle Charging Spaces, which agreed a reduction on LCCs normal standard based on the proposed land use type.
- This key site and consent has led to further commissions from Enterprise in other locations.
