Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, Air Quality / Noise Traffic Data, Road Safety Audit
Project Overview
AMA were appointed by KeyLand Developments (part of Yorkshire Water / Kelda Group) to provide Transportation related support for a hybrid planning application for residential development of up to 230 units on land at Broomfield Farm, Whitby.
AMA provided a number of iterative site access options, both with and without third party land, due to constraints on site utilising the existing and established water treatment works access.
On establishing a preferred site access option, AMA prepared a Transport Assessment, Framework Travel Plan and calculated Air and Noise Traffic Flow data along with a Road Safety Auditing exercise for the access.
AMA also assisted the team with internal layout matters including various legal considerations and advice on the various Section Agreements that would be required to implement any reserved matters scheme.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- AMA agreed a fixed scope of works with NYCC Highways which limited the number of junctions to be assessed and minimise the likely impact of the scheme on local junctions and road links.
- Throughout the consultation process AMA prepared a number of Highways Technical Notes to address any queries / concerns of the scheme, ultimately leading to NYCC Highways support for the scheme.
- AMA also agreed commercially acceptable off-site highway works, including the improvement of sustainable modes access to / from the site and signal timing loops at the adjacent traffic signals, affording a benefit to both existing and proposed residents.
