Crescent Gardens, Harrogate
Services
Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, Servicing and Delivery Management Plan
Project Overview
AMA provided highways and transportation advice on the proposed re-development of Crescent Gardens, the former Harrogate Borough Council Offices, to new office accommodation with an additional upper storey including a restaurant and achieving an uplift in the Gross Floor Area (GFA) of this prominent existing building.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- The key element of this site was to agree the level of parking provision for office use given the site’s core town centre location and proximity to sustainable modes.
- AMA agreed that the highway impact of the proposed use was not of a significant net highways impact and that a Transport Statement was appropriate, also agreeing no developer contributions or mitigation was required on the Local Highway Network.
- AMA also prepared a suitable Servicing and Delivery Management Plan given the town centre location and that the servicing area is on street, shared with neighbouring residential uses. This provided specific consideration on servicing hours, particularly for the new restaurant use.
- A comprehensive Interim Travel Plan was also prepared for the office use seeking to maximise access to / from the site by sustainable modes and encourage modal shift from the private car.
