Project Overview
AMA provided Yorkshire Housing with Transportation related support, accompanying a detailed planning application for a 113 unit residential site at Derry Hill, Menston.
The site had a significant planning history, previously being considered highly contentious and gained its consent at Public Inquiry. This subsequently lapsed prior to the preparation of the application for Yorkshire Housing, effectively commencing the planning process again.
AMA prepared a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for the development and a number of subsequent Highways Technical Notes rebutting the LHA and third party concerns and queries. As a full application, the site access and off-site highway works were prepared as pre-liminary designs and taken through the safety audit and designers response process.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- Agreement of the proposed site access and off-site highways mitigation with BMDC Highways.
- Detailed discussions with BMDC Highways on the Section 106 Developer Contributions ensuring that these were not of the level previously agreed at planning appeal / inquiry which was unviable.
- AMA prepared more detailed highways drawings for the proposed off-site highways works to ensure BMDC Highways buy in at an early stage and have comfort in providing a recommended approval.
