Project Overview
AMA successfully provided Fitzwilliam Capital Projects with transportation related support to accompany an outline planning application for 90 residential dwellings on an existing football centre at Ferrars Avenue, Sheffield, the scheme achieved outline consent.
AMA prepared a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for the site, working with both SCC Highways and Rotherham Highways to ensure that the scheme resulted in no material impact on the Local Highway Network or the Strategic Road Network given the proximity to the M1 and trips through these junctions.
AMA subsequently supported the reserved matters application submitted by Caddick Developments assisting on internal layout matters and ensuring the existing business would retain suitable servicing access.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- AMA achieved a suitable site access to / from the site which proposed a step below standard on centreline radii, however undertaking swept path analysis to prove the access could accommodate a large SCC refuse vehicle and as such was acceptable to the LHA.
- Creating an access effectively unlocked this site and AMA ensured this was achievable with LHA buy in.
- The TP proposed robust measures, but commercially realistic, given the limited access to Public Transport services within the generally accepted recommended walking distance, this ensured that the scheme could be considered sustainable and not car dependent.
