Field Thorpe Lane, Thorpe Willoughby
Services
Section 38, Section 104, Road Safety Audit, Highways Technical Notes, Trial Pitting and Utilities Liaison
Project Overview
AMA provided detailed design support to Countryside Properties on a reserved matters planning consent for a residential development in Thorpe Willoughby.
The site was consented, however through the consultation process on the reserved matters application it was found that the access did not meet forward visibility splay envelope requirements, this was successfully defended by AMA in a Highways Technical Note ensuring development could progress.
Following this technical issue, AMA provided a full suite of detailed design for roads, drainage and sewer adoptions through the Section 38 / 104 process with NYCC Highways.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- AMA undertook a detailed engineering appraisal of the site assessing existing drainage points, utilities locations (trial pitting) and attenuation requirements on site.
- Based on the engineering appraisal AMA then undertook a cut / fill exercise in Civils 3D to determine plot / drainage / gradients levels which tied in with the existing fixed highway levels.
- AMA then prepared the full suite of detailed design drawings for the S38 / S104 process and submitted these successfully to NYCC Highways with agreement from Yorkshire Water. The scheme has also been taken through the various Road Safety Audit stages to the satisfaction of NYCC Highways.
- AMA has also provided ongoing advice on scheme alterations to afford the client with significant cost savings through minor alterations of the layout.
