Project Overview
AMA provided highways and transportation advice on a residential development of 41 dwellings, preparing both a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan, ultimately assisting our client obtain planning consent.
Following consent, AMA provided a full suite of detailed design for roads, drainage and sewer adoptions through the Section 38 / 104 process with Kirklees Highways.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- Achieved an agreeable, but complex site access design due to visibility splay requirements, existing highway tie in and the initial road levels within a site with challenging gradients.
- AMA reached agreement with Kirklees Highways on a compromise on the internal highway adoption gradients to enable the development of the site to take place, this was based on a number of plateaus and steeper approach gradients than normally accepted.
- Based on the engineering appraisal AMA assisted and advised on the cut / fill exercise in Civils 3D to determine plot / drainage / gradients levels, matching the agreed gradients with Kirklees Highways and ultimately being able to tie back in with the existing highway.
- AMA prepared the full suite of detailed design drawings for the S38 / S104 roads and sewers adoption process and achieved Technical Approval on these with Kirklees and Yorkshire Water.
