Transport Statement, Car Parking Accumulation Study
Project Overview
AMA prepared a Transport Statement for a detailed planning application proposing the change of use of an existing B2 General Industrial Unit to a D2 Gymnasium located on Millfield Lane, York.
The scheme experienced repeated objections from York Highways prior to AMA’s involvement; particularly relating to parking provision on site, given its shared nature with the holistic site.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- AMA undertook direct discussions with YCC Highways on the scheme proposals, determining the key points of objections requiring address.
- AMA prepared a revised parking layout and undertook a comparison car parking accumulation study between the B2 and D2 uses, inclusive of other uses on site.
- The car parking accumulation analysis concluded that the proposed provision would cater for demand with a suitable buffer and would not result in overspill to the local highway network. This was presented to YCC Highways and the scheme was then considered acceptable.
