Project Overview
AMA have provided Make it Wild with a comprehensive service taking a conceptual site access scheme through to delivery on site including access design, detailed design and utilities diversions.
The Make it Wild site is located at Bank Woods / Dowgill Grange, just outside Summerbridge, near Harrogate and is a large habitat creation project in Nidderdale’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition the site has constructed an Ecological Education Centre, which welcomes children and adults from the district and wider region to provide educational services on general ecological matters and the Northern Forest project.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- Determination of suitable site access proposals on a national speed limit road. This included speed surveys by ATC and an iterative pre-liminary access design exercise to achieve a junction which met the required national design standards and would be acceptable to NYCC Highways.
- The preferred access design was submitted for planning and consented based on the arguments made by AMA in a detailed Highways Supporting Statement.
- Following the consent of the access and Educational Centre, AMA prepared the Section 278 Detailed Access Designs and achieved Technical Approval of these, including the various stages of Road Safety Audit, including Designers Responses.
- AMA have also assisted the client implement Utilities Diversions on site with Yorkshire Water, including cost savings on the relevant utility authorities by tendering the groundworks independently.
