Project Overview
AMA successfully provided NFC Homes with transportation related support to accompany an outline planning application for 83 residential dwellings, which achieved outline consent.
AMA prepared a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for the site and liaised with the Local Highway Authority Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC).
The scheme required the acquisition of two residential properties for access, which AMA provided a number of options to NFC for consideration prior to approaching home owners. Given the compact nature of the existing estate, providing a viable access was key ensuring visibility splays could be achieved without third party land or challenge at planning stage.
Key Inputs / Outcomes
- Establishing a viable site access with the acquisition of two dwellings. This included an iterative design process utilising speed data for visibility splays and proving achievability on a topographical survey.
- Providing input and advice to the public consultation process on what was a highly contentious scheme in the local area given other competing sites in the area.
- A number of iterative sensitivity tests were provided to CCC Highways as part of the planning application’s consideration, all resulting in a negligible and acceptable impact.
- The scheme was approved with no requirement for off-site highways contributions.
